Make Your Own Work of Art Out of Decoupage Paper

šŸ–¼ļø Transforming a Vintage Frame with Decoupage and Metallic Accents

There’s something magical about breathing new life into forgotten pieces—and this little makeover was no exception. I started with a charming vintage frame and decided to experiment with decoupaging rice paper directly onto the glass insert. The paper I chose was the elegant Fountain Girl design from Posh Chalk, which instantly added a romantic, old-world charm.

I applied a layer of Fusion's Decoupage Gel to the glass, then I put the decoupage paper face down on that and applied another coat of the gel to seal in the paper.

To complement the artwork, I painted the frame in Willowbank by Fusion Mineral Paint—a rich, moody blue that grounds the piece beautifully.

For a touch of glamour, I dry brushed the ornate details with Lemon Gold Posh Chalk Pigments. The result? A striking blend of texture, shimmer, and timeless style.

This project was a joy to create and a perfect example of how simple materials can yield stunning results. Whether you're new to decoupage or a seasoned DIYer, don’t be afraid to mix mediums and let your creativity lead the way.

You can find everything I used here to upcycle your own empty frame and glass including Fusion Mineral Paint, Decoupage Paper and Posh Chalk Pigments.Ā Ā

I'd love to see your completed project if you want to share.
