Duncan Phyfe Style Furniture Makeover

These drop leaf style tables can be a real space saver for smaller areas.  And with so many people downsizing from big homes to condos and apartments, these have become very popular.

This table was in good shape structurally but the finish was failing on top so I first scraped it and then sanded with 180 grit sand paper.

After the table top was sanded I cleaned the rest of the table with TSP Alternative.

I applied Black Gel Stain & Topcoat to the top of the table for a very durable finish.  Then I painted the rest of the table in Fusion Mineral Paint Coal Black. 

I added a new lion's head drawer pull and painted it and the four metal claw feet with Lemon Gold pigments. 

I think this table will make a great addition to someone's living space.
