🌿 Timeless Taupe: A Charming Set of Upcycled Tables Ready for a New Home

A Beautiful Set With Endless Potential

When I found this set of tables, I instantly loved their shape and size. They had great bones and a classic style — they just needed a little love to bring out their full potential.
I brought them straight to the shop and got to work.
Prep Work Makes All the Difference
The first step was a thorough cleaning with TSP Alternative to remove dust, grime, and anything that might interfere with a smooth finish. While cleaning, I noticed the legs were a bit loose, so I tightened everything up to make sure the tables were sturdy and ready for everyday use.
Next, I gave the surfaces a light scuff‑sand with a sanding block. This step helps take down the shine and gives the paint something to grip onto. I also filled the holes on the drawer fronts since I knew I wanted to replace the old, dated hardware with fresh new knobs.
A Soft, Elegant Finish With Cathedral Taupe
For the color, I chose Fusion Mineral Paint Cathedral Taupe — a warm, timeless neutral that works beautifully in almost any space. Two coats were all it took to completely refresh the look of the tables.
To add durability (especially if these end up in a busy living room or bedroom), I sealed the paint with Satin Ultra Guard, giving the finish a soft sheen and extra protection.

Pretty Details Inside and Out
The drawers got a little makeover of their own. I lined them with beautiful patterned paper for a clean, polished look — such a lovely surprise when you open them.
Finally, I added two new knobs to complete the transformation. It’s amazing how much new hardware can elevate a piece.
Ready for Their Next Chapter
I’m so happy with how this set turned out. They’re versatile enough to be used as end tables, nightstands, or even accent pieces in a hallway or entryway. Fresh, sturdy, and full of charm — they’re ready for a new home and a new story.
