🌊 Nautical Charm: A Small Side Table Makeover with Ships in Vesper
Share
Some pieces speak to you the moment you see them—and this small side table was one of those. I loved its design and instantly had a vision for how to bring it back to life.

It was a little wobbly, so I flipped it over and gave the legs some TLC with glue and tightening. Once sturdy, I sanded the spotty finish off the top to make it a smooth canvas for the paper I wanted to use.
I then cleaned the rest of the piece with TSP Alternative to prep for paint

To make the design pop, I painted the top white—perfect for showcasing the Ships in Vesper decoupage paper I had in stock. After the paint dried, I applied a coat of Fusion’s Decoupage & Transfer Gel and carefully laid down the paper. Then I brushed on another coat of gel to smooth the paper down.
For the base, I chose Fusion Mineral Paint in Midnight Blue, which added depth and drama while complementing the nautical theme beautifully.

The result? A charming, one-of-a-kind accent table that didn’t last long in the shop—my customer snapped it up right away!
